The Best Make Up Bags EVER!

Like most girls I love make-up, I love experimenting and trying new products. More than just loving make up though, I love make-up brushes. I’m constantly trying to find the best ones, I swear If you saw my whole make up collection you would think I was a make up artist because of the size of my collection. I am always on the hunt for the best make up bags.

V513475_OF_DETFor years I used the Victoria Secret Travel Case cosmetic bags, which open up in to two pockets allowing you to separate your brushes and make up. I loved that they came in a variety of vibrant patterns and colours like leopard print, bright pink and black glitter. However the downside to these bags was they aren’t the cheapest at just under £40 and after having 3 over the years, every zip has broken which is just annoying. There are now cheaper versions of these on the market but maybe because I have too much make up I always found I’d have to leave stuff out as it nearly bursting at the seams.

Then I came across My Kit Co. I had a few friends recommend them but to be honest I just thought it was an instagram hype, but I decided to take a look at the website.

The first thing I came across was the ‘My Brush Buddy’ now as a lover of brushes this was something I just couldn’t resist. With its four separate compartments its perfect to keep your brushes organised and you can arrange them by base, eyes, pencils even. I even added my brush cleaner to it. Its great because you aren’t mixing it with your make up which means they keep cleaner and it makes it so much easier to just pick them out.

”My Neat & Tidy” Organiser | 3 of 4 shown here!

I then purchased the ‘Neat & Tidy’ organiser which at the price of just £26 comes with four separate bags. It means you can organise your make up from eye shadow palettes to your foundations and bronzers. I’m sure every girl wastes so much time when they are doing there make up just looking for their blusher. Well this helps saves time as its not all shoved in to one bag.

I then finished off my collection with the ‘My Travel Buddy.’ I’m not going to lie I feel this product is aimed more for make-up artists but I found it was great for organising my hair products, hair accessories and with the two internal meshed zipped pockets it allows me to organise my hair grips and bobbles. As I am performer I often have to carry a lot of makeup and products around and this also makes it easier.

PVC Pouch Large & Small

Im not sure if this still applies but at the time of buying it also came with a free PVC pouch which you could choose from small or large. I have used these to organise my nail polishes.

The two best things about My Kit Co. is the affordability, such a great price for quality items and the variety of products you can choose from. Your make up kit will never be unorganised again. This is not an AD just a review from a very satisfied customer. If you don’t believe me check out their website and be amazed for yourself.

London Fashion Week Festival

For my birthday I was lucky enough to receive tickets for London Fashion Week Festival (If you’re stuck for gift ideas then this is a great one). LFWF is an event which gives you access to the best of British and International fashion including industry talks, designer shopping and trend and designer catwalk shows. Its basically a must see for all Fashionistas, so I grabbed a couple of my friends and off we went. I had the ‘Gold’ ticket which meant I got to view both Catwalk shows. So let me tell you what I discovered.

Designer Show – Teatum Jones

Catherine Teatum and Rob Jones are the designers behind London based brand TEATUM JONES! It is not a brand I am familiar with but I really enjoyed their show. The catwalk show featured many bold, bright fabrics. I felt like they had a story to tell, nothing was just a plain block colour. After researching this brand I discovered that this is what they are known for. On the catwalk I saw many many statement coats and bold shirt dresses

Trend show

This was a fun show to watch however I feel like the trends of this season are rather obvious. So not sure I can say I learnt a lot but as I said there was some very pretty things.

Micro Florals

‘Florals in spring are a given but this time they are in microscopic form.’

We all know florals is not a new trend, its basically a given when it comes to spring. However I do think its something that many girls won’t even try as they just aren’t that ‘girly.’ The great thing about the micro florals is from a far they just look like block colours. So I think it will introduce a new type of girl into florals. There are some great tailored outerwear looks around if you fancy playing around with a new take of florals.

Ruffles Reinvented

‘They’re cooler and sexier with unusual fabrications and assorted dimensions.’

I think the interesting thing about ruffles this year is that we are seeing them in more unusual places i.e. down the back of a dress instead of the front. I think they are best styled with a more streamline look that way they can really shine.

Shoulder Show

‘Widespread neckline and sleeve experimention delivers dazzling result.’

We saw a lot of the ‘cold shoulder’ look last year but I think this year there has been a lot more experiments with the actual sleeves as oppose to just no sleeves. I have also noticed different necklines and a lot of asymmetrical shapes.

Top Of The Shops

This past week brought us London Fashion Week and one of my favourite events is the Topshop Unique show. I believe they have revolutionised the way fashion shows will be and how we shop. Not only do they live stream the show on various platforms but you can now shop the runway looks straight after show. A shopaholics dream!

Topshop Unique is my favourite collection from Topshop but it is much pricier than their usual stuff. I must admit its definitely gone up since it first started but hasn’t everything. I think the price is justified as TU is only available in the London Oxford Street store and a limited selection online and on Net-a-Porter. Once its gone it’s gone making it exclusive, I guess you could say its Unique! The quality is a lot better than most Topshop clothing and the items I’ve had from previous seasons have lasted many years, I’m always bringing them back out thanks to their timeless designs.

This years catwalk had some great looks, lots of bright colours. It had a few 90’s influences and very slouchy feel to a lot of the clothing. I was a fan of most of the looks except this oversized jumper. I know the looks you see on the catwalk are over exaggerated and not exactly how you would wear it walking down the street but I just hate how this was styled. I mean how do I pick anything up?

Obviously I bought a few items, I tried not to go too crazy so bought the more statement looks that I can pair with my more affordable tops and bottoms. I purchased this dress which is also available in a mustard colour but I opted for the floral because I have a few yellow dresses already. This is the perfect dress for spring/summer and can easily be dressed up or down.

I also got two pairs of trousers which as I said will go perfect with my recent purchases from Zara. I loved these cargo trousers on the catwalk but the picture on the website put me off slightly as they didn’t look quite as cool but I bought them anyway. Turns out they look more like the website picture than the runway but the great thing about buying online  is you can return for free.

The last item I got was this striped shirt dress, because you can’t go wrong with a shirt dress. Its my favourite colour and I love the detail on the belt, it really helps cinch you in.

Luckily for me and my bank account the looks that went on sale straight after the show weren’t my top picks so I didn’t get too carried away but I can’t promise I won’t when the full collection goes on sale. I already have my eye one a chic cream dress and some funky yellow ankle boots.

Springing into Spring

Top: Zara; Jeans: Topshop Boutique; Shoes: Topshop Unique

Spring is on its way but before it arrives we have to go through that weird transitional stage where wearing our winter wardrobe doesn’t seem fresh enough and is slightly too warm yet you’re not quite ready to get your bikini out. I went shopping and picked out some perfect outfits to get me through this transition and will also be perfect for Spring.

There appears to be a lot of light pastel colours which aren’t really the best colours for me but also some really vibrant colours like yellow. Stripes always seem to come back around every year so if you don’t fancy buying anything new maybe try routing through some of last years wardrobe. As I have started prepping my spring wardrobe I’ve tended to buy cheaper tops and a few affordable casual dresses from Zara and spent a little more on the Bottom half.

Dress: Zara

I have to admit my usual high street choice is Topshop and although I will always be a Topshop girl, I’ve found that unless its in the Boutique or Unique range, Topshop has lost its edge. The last few seasons I have turned to Zara. I think they are great for your everyday street style and it’s much more affordable.

Dress: Zara

Ruffles and frills seem to be dominating this season whether it be on a skirt or a top you just can’t get away from them although I like that it makes what would usually be a quite plain skirt something a little different. I feel a strong 80s influence coming through and for the time being I actually don’t mind it. There is still much more shopping to do before I have completed my perfect spring wardrobe but its a great way to start. Next on the list is definitely some new shoes!

.Favourite Quote.

”Forever is a long, long time and time has a way of changing things” – Walt Disney

Who Am I?

I’m Yasmin or Yaz to my friends.

A Little bit about me then, I’m a professional dancer/performer by day (and night tbf) and a shopaholic since birth. I like Clothes (Obviously), All things Harry Potter, SHOES, films and anything ROSE GOLD!

My Job has allowed me to work with some amazing artists such as Little Mix,  Rita Ora to name a few and on your Fave Tv Shows The X factor,  The Voice, Saturday Night Take Away. My most recent experiences have been on the stage in Londons West End! And my dreams were fulfilled when I got to ‘go to the ball’ and be a part of Disney’s Cinderella (Try and Spot Me). But enough about dance back to fashion.

I have a little Instagram page I recently started showing off all my daily outfits and where you can purchase them. Make sure you give it a follow and hopefully you will find some inspiration for your wardrobe.

I also started up a YouTube channel involving all things fashion, as I felt so many channels were dedicated to beauty. Sometimes make-up gets mentioned because I’m a  girly girl who likes to get dressed up but I have really had fun coming up with video ideas that are based solely on clothes and fashion and obviously I LOVE a Good HAUL!

One of my first videos I did was ‘The Bin Bag Challenge.’ Making a dress out of bin bags not as easy as it may seem.
SPOILER ALERT: I even wore it to Westfield Shopping Centre!!

Click on the thumbnail to check it out and Don’t forget to subscribe!

I’m literally sat at work right now and just decided to write a blog. It seemed the like the next step. So I look forward to coming up with some creative ideas for all you wonderful people reading this. I will be giving you some great things new in the world of fashion and might fill you in on some of the exciting dance jobs I’m on.

But for now Hope you had a lovely Christmas and here is some of my FAVE looks of 2016!
