5 Must Have Swimsuits

Over the last few years swimwear has become less about tanning and more about fashion, even more so with the rise of beach clubs and programmes like TOWIE!

The Beach Club Bikini

This look is all about looking good not about how to get the best tan! If you are off to a beach club or spending the day on a booze cruise, it is essential you find the right swimwear. Opt for either a strappy bikini or swimsuit. Finish the look with a wedge and some fabulous jewellery. If you are looking for the perfect beach jewellery  check out my friends company Feather and Chain.

If you are off on a girly holiday or just for a romantic getaway you can always find time to top up your tan. However unless you want to look like a Zebra its best to ditch the strappy bikini and opt for a more basic look. I recommend a micro triangle top that allows you to pull the straps down without missing that all important cleavage paired with a thin strap bottom. You can always choose a thong bottom but that just depends on how confident you are. Of course you can always choose the topless look but that’s not for everyone.

I know the thought of  Summer can be a dreaded time for some, not only because of hay fever. The idea of having your body on show for everybody to see makes you want to cover up. Well I’m here to tell you to embrace your curves, your the scar, your cellulite, those stretch marks or the lack of boobs you have. Whatever the case may be love your body and embrace everything summer has to offer. If you’re still a bit worried here’s some solutions to make your Summer more comfortable.

Bikinis seem to be coming a thing of the past with swimsuits really taking over and no longer just being for someone over a certain age range or on the curvy side. So for what ever the reason you don’t want to get your stomach out there are some very chic and stylish swimsuits about. Pair it with an oversized floppy sun hat to really get heads turning. Or if you’re feeling playful I love a quote or location swim costume. Another favourite look of mine, if you’re feeling brave and want to bare a little bit of skin, is a high waisted bikini still keeping you chic and covered.

Sexy and Strapless

When going on your travels its essential you pack at least one strapless bikini. After all sometimes you don’t want to pull your straps down and deal with the hassle of that. If you are a girl with a smaller chest and you haven’t yet embraced it, this style is perfect for you. It gives the illusion that there is something there especially if you get a padded strapless bikini.

Top-Tini

Gone are the days of those awful ‘tank top’ bikinis but what I have noticed is a new trend of a longer bodied bikini with usually halter neck strap or sometimes off the shoulder. I think these have replaced the tank top and thank goodness because they are way more stylish. This style of bikini top is not great for tanning. However it is great to pair with some shorts and rock it as a top. That way at a moments notice you can be ready to jump in the pool or sea without feeling like you are walking around half naked.

I understand swimwear can be expensive but the great thing is it will last you for a few years, even the cheaper ones. I feel like there is always the tendency to over pack but I guarantee of you pack at least one of each of these styles you will not come unstuck on your travels. Finally remember swimwear is just like underwear it should always be matching.

5 Hacks For A Shopaholic

I am a 26 year old shopaholic who doesn’t believe in wearing the same thing twice. I live in London in a 2 bed flat that I share with my friend and my boyfriend, who almost has as many clothes as I do. Needless to say having storage space is not a luxury I have. My bedroom is essentially a walk in wardrobe with a bed in the middle.

So here are a few helpful hacks to making the most of your space or lack of. Trust me I’m qualified.

1. A Bed is NOT just for sleeping!

I recommend buying a bed with either drawers attached or one that is high enough to fit boxes underneath.  A divan bed is just not suitable for a dedicated slave to fashion. If it’s too late and you have already bought a bed, my thoughts are with you but you should of found me sooner.

2.  SHOES are a girls Best Friend!

If you are lucky enough to own a pair or more, of expensive designer shoes I understand you want to keep the box and rightly so. They cost more than a pet they and they deserve to be treated properly. But for all your everyday shoes it’s time to ditch the boxes. There are some great shoe storage options available. I recommend for your casual flat shoes (eww) and trainers purchasing an over the door holder, not the racks they are terrible and will fall apart but the ones with pockets are great. Then for your heels you can get these great boxes that are clear so you can see which shoes are in them, they also feature sliding drawers so you don’t have to move everything just to get to the bottom pair.

3. Change with the Seasons

Just imagine, it’s spring/summer. Likelihood is you are not going to wear a thick jumper (if living in the U.K. Leave one out as a precaution). So pick out the A/W looks you won’t be wearing and sort through them. If they are just a basic shirt which you probably won’t wear again because you will buy something similar next year in a different colour, put it in a bin bag. However if it is something that maybe costs a bit more money, is Unique or looks timeless put it in a box and store them under your bed. Then when it’s time to change the seasons you repeat the whole process again.

4. Sell! Sell! Sell!

But what about the clothes in the bin bag I hear you ask? Well one option is to throw them away but that just doesn’t seem right. The best thing to do is either take them to a charity shop or if you want a bit of money for them but it’s not worth the hassle of setting up an eBay post,  there are plenty of companies that will buy your items and pay roughly 50/60p per kilo. It’s not a lot however if you have a lot of bags it does start to add up. Some of them even take shoes and bedding. When it comes to the more expensive outfits or maybe evening dresses I suggest Once a year taking a look at what you have, ask yourself am I going to wear this again? Is this a timeless look? If the answer is no.. sell it! eBay! Depop! Instagram!

5. Love or Louboutins?

To all serious fashionistas try to avoid living with a significant other until you can afford an apartment with a Carrie Bradshaw style wardrobe.

I know having a minimalistic room or house is the dream but if you are shopping obsessed, sacrifices have to be made. So try taking it as a positive and a push you need to work harder. The more money you make the quicker you will get to a walk in wardrobe oh and of course that much needed pair of Louboutins.
